Monica Tesauri was born in Reggio Emila, Italy, in 1966. She received the Dr.Ing. degree in Electronic Engineering from the University of Parma in 1991, discussing a thesis developed in ALCATEL-Telettra about the reliability and life test of InGaAsP/InP lasers.
From 1991 to 1993 she received a grant from CNR for working on the design and realization of a WD-FSK, WDM coherent optical system at 622 MBit/sec with Dipartimento di Ingegneria dell'Informazione (DII) of Parma University. She spent three months at Hirst Research Centre in London working on the design of microwave circuits. Since November 1994 she has been a Ph.D. Student at DII of the University of Parma.
Her main research interests include optical networks with particular attention on coherent systems.
Monica Tesauri is an IEEE Student Member.
