Alessandro Ugolini was born in Parma, Italy, in 1987. He received the Master's degree in Telecommunications Engineering (cum laude) from the University of Parma in 2012, and the Ph.D. degree in Information Technology from the same University in 2016. In 2012 he received a National Inter-University Consortium for Telecommunications (CNIT) scholarship and a research grant funded by the Department of Information Engineering (DII), University of Parma, for the study of synchronization algorithms for spectrally efficient systems. In 2016 he was a postdoctoral researcher at the DII. From April to June 2017 he was a visiting researcher in the Communication and Antenna Systems division at Chalmers University of Technology. From December 2017 to January 2018 he was visiting researcher at the Interdisciplinary Centre for Security, Reliability and Trust of the University of Luxembourg.
